How I Coach
I partner with my clients in discovery, examination and
evolution. With my assistance and support, clients draw on
knowledge, wisdom and intuition to answer questions about
vision, purpose, direction and goals. Sometimes clients generate
their own A–Ha moments, other times, my questions, feedback,
advice and challenges help the client move forward. Either way,
the focus is on growth and evolution.
Lasting change is achieved by going to the client's core and:
- understanding who they are and what is right for them, and;
- making the necessary adjustments, changes and shifts that
will result in positive and lasting improvements and achievements.
How It Works
- I will ask many questions.
- I will listen, carefully and deeply.
- I will challenge you.
- I will encourage you.
- I will support you.
- I will ask about your values, and help you clarify them if
necessary.
- I will ask if your actions are aligned with your values.
- I will probe deeper.
- I will look for the source of frustrations and stuckness.
- I will ask what is underneath the surface.
- I will think about your Big Picture and share my thoughts.
- I will let you vent — if you want to — but only for a couple
minutes.
- I will ask you to take notes and do fieldwork (assignments or
experiments to be completed in-between coaching sessions).
- I might be a bit edgy . . . depending (i.e. direct and
to-the-point in a way that is kind and respectful, but maybe not
what you are used to).
- I will refer you to other professionals if your needs are beyond
my expertise.
I prefer to enjoy coaching sessions and give my clients an open
space to examine and explore. I thrive on focus and client
progress. I will hold you accountable for what you say you will
do.
