About Coach Matt
My Vision
To help others understand and harness the power of thought.
My Mission Statement
By studying human behavior and excellence, and transmitting
that knowledge through my work, coaching, speaking and training in ways
that increase the awareness, clarity, effectiveness and happiness of my
associates and co-workers, I will live a life of abundance and
fulfillment.
My Background
My journey to coaching has been interesting and rewarding. From a paper
route when I was ten-years-old to co-owner of an information
technology services business I have enjoyed all sorts of
experiences.
I came to coaching as a result of some serious thinking about my
interests, passions and where my purpose lay (exactly what a
good coach will want to talk about with you . . . ). What I kept
coming back to is an interest in personal development, a desire
to share knowledge and help people.
It has been said that teachers often teach what they most should
learn. My decision to become a coach grew out of an intense
period of personal growth. I decided to make some changes in my
life and learn more about personal achievement and
excellence. Once I began to see the fruits of my study I wanted
to share my growing knowledge. I knew that if I could make the
sorts of positive changes I was making, I could help others to
do the same.
I have worked in the higher education, non-profit and corporate
sectors and, as I mentioned above, have been self-employed. I
earned a B.A. in American Studies (Political Science
concentration) from Hobart College in Geneva, NY (Go Statesmen!)
I am a graduate of
CoachU.
